I got e-mail.
It was written in it as follows.

* So should I start using my left hand instead of my right hand ?
* Please try to share your experience against a left handed player.

First, let me ask you questions.

Why do you think so ?
Do you think that it became advantageous for a right-handed player ?
Or, do you think that it became advantageous for a left-handed player ?

I think that exercise of how to use left hands for playing "karuta" is unnecessary for current you.

Please reference "a study of left-handed player".
Left-handed player is only one that participated meijin-sen and queen-sen. There is very few it.
Please refference my web-site.
Article-5 is words of some left-handed player.

The reason that a right-handed player plays in the left-hand has three cases.

1)Physical reason
ex. i)Injureing the right hand or the right elbow or the right shoulder
ii)Preventing the balance of right and left of the human trunk from collapsing
(If the injuries of the reason to take in the left-hand are gone, they come back to the right-hand.)
2)Strategic reason
ex. He/she is originally right-handed, but he/sfe have a determination that makes use of a profit of minority as left-handed player.
(Even if he/she is usually right-handed in daily life, it is classified in a left-handed player at this point in time.)
(They always use the left hand in kyogi-karuta.)
3)Tactical reason
ex. If oppnent is left-handed player, he/she uses the left hand.
(He/she uses the right hand when an opponent is a right-handed player)

Most one is i) of article-1.
In comics, it is this case that "chihya" used the left hand.
M.Roman who founded "Karuta France" is this case, too. There is often the disorder of his right shoulder. So he often uses the left hand.
ii) of article-1 is special. I know only one. That is Mrs.Ritsuko Kitano who was queen of karuta. She uses the right and the left every one game in turn for some time for a while.
In the case of article-2, I know several people, but they didn't promote the Class A.
Because, approach to the right direction (jijin-migi & tekijin-hidari) becomes coarse. It is lacking in accuracy and delicacy.
In the case of article-3.
Mr.Tanemura who is Eisei-Meijin tried it. He won a left-handed partner by the exercise level.
He said "I think that using left-hand is right theoretically against the left-hand. Because, as for my left hand, the anti-left hand is for exclusive use. Because it was the theory that Mr.Masaki who is first Eisei-Meijin advocated, I practiced it. I was able to demonstrate me by an exercise, however I stopped trying it. Because the play of my left hand became more coarse than the play of my right hand."
He was not able to reproduce the technique of the right hand with the left hand enough.
His remark continued "I understand that specific gravity of "Kanji" is not heavy in my karuta play. It is the useful tactics in the left measures if it is a heavy playing player of the specific gravity of "Kanji". "

I have practiced playing of the left hand, too. However, my play became rough. Besides, I damaged my waist.
The skillfulness of the right hand was not enough to my left hand.
In addition, how to use body when I used the left hand was different. Muscles to use are different.
I stopped trying it.
This is because it makes a body disorder when it practices the left hand further.

I have understood it one more.
It is relations of "teiichi" and "kanji".
When I used the left hand, I put it in "teiichi" as the mirror symmetry of the right hand. I felt my left hand to be in right "teiichi" and have moved my hand there. It is totally reverse to the card which I displayed.
There is the person who can react with mirror symmetry exactly. I was not able to do it in it.
I understood that the play of the left hand was not suitable for me.

I do not know whether you become the result same as Mr.Tanemura and me.
However, I thinks that you are not appropriate now to practice the play of your left hand.

By the way, my play records with mine vs.left-handed person are as follows.
1979.4.1-2015.3.31 Games:279 Wins:165 Defeats:114 winning average 59.1% (vs.right 59.6%)
1979.4.1-2016.3.31 Games:301 Wins:186 Defeats:115 winning average 61.8% (vs.right 59.6%)

My winning rate was lower than the "vs.right players" until last year.
But my winning rate was higher than the "vs.right players" until now.
I was weak in the "vs.left" until last year, and did I become storong in the "vs.the left" this year?
It is not so.
Most of the left players of this year were players Class C and D. One game that I lost was a player of the Class B.
What is it that this shows?
About opponents, it is more important the fact of the weak or strong than the problem of the left or the right.

You should improve a right-handed skill now.
When, unfortunately, you have injured the right under the present conditions, you should practice the left hand.
Other than it, it is the next both case to begin the exercise of the left hand.
 1) After you are promoted to Class A player.
 2) When you felt difficulty for the correspondence to left-handed Class A player.
In this case it is not necessary to use your left hand for a right-handed player.
The opponent whom you use the left hand for is a left-handed player.

In conclusion, I think "it is more important practicing your right hand than practicing your left hand, and you have to become strong, and to promote to the Class A.".
